Recent Grants


  • Kent Dunlap, Charles A. Dana Research Professor of Biology, Received a Fullbright Award to conduct his research in Portgual.
  • Peter Yoon, Professor of Computer Science, received a Fullbright Award to conduct his research in Ethopia.
  • Two Trinity students will receive support for their summer projects from Projects for Peace.  Mariam Avagyan '18 will offer a two-week robotics programming camp for middle school students in Armenia.  Ukuch Gabriel Ligol '19 will offer a soccer tournament and use it as a vehicle to forge positive relationships between youth from different tribes in South Sudan.
  • Dr. Susan Masino, Vernon Roosa Professor of Applied Science, was awarded a grant from the National Institute of Health to support the 6th Global Symposium on "Ketogenic Therapies for Neurological Disorders."
  • Eric Galm, Associate Professor of Music, was awarded a grant from the Greater Hartford Arts Council to support Samba Fest 2018.
  • Versa Products awarded a grant to help support the 2018 Trinity College Fire Fighting Home Robot Contest and support robotics programming for middle school students who attend Dream Camp during the summer. 
  • Jack Dougherty, Professor of Educational Studies, was awarded a grant from the Ct Data Collaborative to support Liberal Arts Action Lab.
  • Research Associate Professor of Biology Terri Williams and colleagues from University of Arizona were awarded a grant from the National Science Foundation. Williams is principle-invesitgator on the study, "Collaborative Research: RUI: Regulating the Tribolium segmentation clock."
  • The Marie and John Zimmermann Fund awarded a grant to fund the Jones-Zimmermann Academic Mentoring Program.   Read more.
  • The NASA CT Space Grant Consortium awarded grants to support student research projects.
  • The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation awarded a grant to promote inclusive excellence in the Arts, Humanaties, and Digital Scholarship.  Read more.
  • The Ellen Jeanne Goldfarb Memorial Charitable Trust awarded a grant to support Moving Matters!, a 12-week multi-arts program for students from Parkville Community School.  Read more.
  • The National Endowment for the Humanities awarded a grant to support the preservation and storage of the Watkinson Library’s collection of American almanacs. 
  • The Wal-Mart Community Grants Team and the local Wal-Mart store awarded a grant to support Dream Camp.
  • The Enterprise Holdings Foundation awarded a grant to support Dream Camp.
  • Assistant Professor of Political Science and Public Policy & Law Abigail Fisher Williamson and colleagues from the University of Connecticut and Cleveland State University were awarded a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Williamson is co-investigator on the study, "Investigating Conceptions of Health Equity and Barriers to Making Health a Shared Value." Read more.
  • Kevin Huang, assistant professor of engineering, was awarded a faculty research grant from the NASA Connecticut Space Grant Consortium to support his project, “Intelligent Interfaces for VR/AR Mediated Teleoperation of Heterogeneous Space Robots.” This is a collaborative project with Central Connecticut State University.
  • Craig Schneider, Charles A. Dana Professor of Biology, was awarded a grant from the Nekton Foundation to support his research.
  • Scholarships for Illinois Residents, Inc. awarded scholarships to students from Illinois currently attending the college.
  • The Charles G. Koch Foundation awarded a grant to support student programming related to entrepreneurship and American enterprise.
  • The Mastercard Foundation awarded a grant to support scholarships for students from Africa.
  • The Phi Kappa Educational Foundation awarded a grant to support scholarships.
  • The Connecticut Higher Education Supplemental Loan Authority (CHESLA) awarded funds to support scholarships for students with demonstrated financial need.
  • Professor of Anthropology James Trostle was awarded a grant from the National Institutes of Health for his research project, “Zika and Dengue Co-circulation Under Environmental Change and Urbanization.”
