Apply to be a Writing Associate
The Writing Associates Selection Committee is looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated student writers from a wide variety
of academic majors. Students should be active learners who combine good
writing skills with an interest in working with other students. All
Trinity students are eligible to apply.
Students who are accepted into the program this year will take RHET
302, Writing Theory and Practice, in the Fall Term of 2013. Designed to
enhance writing across the academic disciplines, this program prepares
talented undergraduate writers to serve as peer writing tutors in the
Writing Center.
Submit the Following Materials
To apply for the Writing Associate Program, you should submit the
following materials for consideration by the Writing Associates
Selection Committee:
- Brief Personal Statement: Write 2 or 3 pages describing
your academic interests and major and reasons for wanting to become a
Writing Associate. Please include some thoughts about your own
writing. Describe, for example, your writing process, your experience
with feedback on writing, and/or your experience working with others on
writing.
- Writing Sample: Submit two or three examples of writing you have done at Trinity(no more than 20 pages total).
- Faculty Reference: Ask a faculty member who is familiar with you and your writing to write a letter of support.
