Writing at Trinity

Writing Across the Curriculum

Writing is an integral part of academic work in virtually all courses at Trinity, and students are expected to write prose that is correct, clear, convincing, and appropriate to audience and purpose. Writing to learn and learning to write are frequent features of many courses.  The Allan K. Smith Center for Writing and Rhetoric evaluates the writing pro ciency of all entering students. Some may be required to enroll in writing courses or other programs for supplemental writing instruction.

The Writing Center Supports Writing Development

The Writing Center is a place that teaches writing in a one-on-one setting.  The evolution of students' writing abilities is supported by frequent visits to the Writing Center. At any time during students' careers at Trinity, faculty encourage students to seek out and value the feedback on writing offered by Writing Assoicates at the Writing Center.
