Because of its cosmopolitan nature and multicultural heritage, the Caribbean provides a perfect laboratory for studying the ethnic, racial, and gender histories of peoples whose identities have evolved here over the past few hundred years. A special feature of this site is its study of Carnival as sociological phenomenon.
