Academic Director
Alden R. Gordon, the Gwendolyn Miles Smith Professor of Art History, is the academic director for the Trinity-in-Paris Program.  Professor Gordon has taught courses at Trinity on the history of art and French culture since 1978.  His scholarly specialization is the art and architecture of France in the 18th and 19th centuries. Professor Gordon is a chevalier of the French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.

Program prerequisites
The Paris program is open to Trinity and visiting students from all majors and backgrounds.  Students without French language preparation, as well as those who are proficient or fluent in French, are urged to apply.  Students who have little or no French language background will be required to take an intensive elementary French language course as part of their Paris curriculum.

GPA requirement
Students must be in good academic standing. Applicants with a minimum GPA of 2.7 will be interviewed by the faculty sponsors of the Paris program.

Housing and meals
Housing is provided by Paris Academic Rentals, a professional organization established in 1995.  Paris Academic Rentals assists students with housing placements based on their needs and preferences. Students have the option of selecting double or triple apartments or home stays.  Students are responsible for paying their monthly rent directly to the property owner.

Costs/expenses—Estimated expenses
All students attending the Trinity-in-Paris Global Learning Site will be billed the full Trinity College comprehensive fee. The comprehensive fee will cover tuition and related academic fees, such as excursions, walking tours, and study trips. Depending upon the Global Learning Site, certain credits that pertain to other costs will be applied to the student’s  account.
Upon acceptance into the program, all participants will receive detailed information about applicable credits, personal expense estimates, and a complete package of orientation materials.

Students who receive financial aid from Trinity College will have that aid transferred to the Global Learning Site semester. Application for the transfer of financial aid must be made early and in consultation with the Office of Financial Aid.

Application information
Trinity students are required to submit a Request for Approval to Study Away by the first week of December of the academic year prior to study. Upon approval, students must submit a program application by March 15, for fall or full year or September 15, for spring. Applications are available in the Office of International Programs at 66 Vernon St. Non-Trinity students should contact the Office for an application and other information. Once accepted, all students will receive a program handbook that includes details on visas, finances, health issues, and other relevant information.
