Credit Summary for Approved List of Study Away Programs
When studying away, students can earn different kinds of credit, depending upon the program in which they participate:
1) Trinity Credit: Applies to students enrolled in Trinity courses taught or supervised by faculty with Trinity appointments, and receive grades that calculate into their GPA. Students are enrolled in these courses by Trinity College.
The following programs offer full Trinity credit:
Trinity College/Rome Campus, Italy
Programa de Estudios Hispánicos en Córdoba, Spain (PRESHCO)
Trinity-in-Paris Global Site (for students who do not take courses at the Institute Catholique)
2) Transfer Credits that calculate into the GPA: Applies to students enrolled in the Trinity Global Sites listed below, as well as the 12 College Exchange. The Global Sites offer a combination of Trinity Credit (see above) and transfer credit that calculates into the GPA. The 12 College Exchange offers transfer credit that calculates into the GPA. Students attending these programs must complete an Application for Transfer Credit for all non-Trinity credit courses.

Trinity-in-Vienna, Austria
Trinity-in-Cape Town
Trinity-in-Barcelona, Spain
Trinity-in-Port of Spain, Trinidad (for UWI courses only)
Twelve College Exchange Institutions
3) Transfer Credit: Applies to students enrolled in the Trinity-in-Santiago Program and to programs not administered by Trinity, including affiliate programs. With appropriate prior approval, transfer credits may be used to fulfill major, minor, or distribution requairements. To receive transfer credit, students must complete the Application for Transfer Credit form and follow the procedures outlined in the Student Handbook under the section titled "Transfer Credit". Grades From transferred courses at programs not administered by Trinity do not compute into students' Trinity GPA, but do appear as text on the Trinity transcript.

Note that this list contains both Trinity- administered and affiliated programs (see programs defined above and marked with an asterisk below), as well as those offered by other schools and organizations. The programs with an asterisk are NOT subject to the study away fee.
