Study Away is a critical component of Trinity's urban/global mission and the College encourages all students to study away!
The Office of International Programs assists Trinity students who wish to study away for a semester, an academic year, or on a Trinity-administered summer program.
Trinity students from every major (including mathematics, engineering, and the sciences) study away on over 80 approved international and domestic programs in 40 countries throughout the world. They earn credit toward their undergraduate degree at Trinity, many fulfilling major and/or minor requirements.
Over fifty percent of each graduating class at Trinity participates in a study away program for one or more semesters, and we want you to join them! There are program options to fit the needs and interests of almost any student, and our staff will assist you in planning an international experience to complement your studies in Hartford.
Recent students have studied in Italy, England, China, France, Trinidad, Australia, Japan, Sweden, Scotland, Ireland, Egypt, Chile, Israel, Russia, Spain, Jordan, India, Turkey, Austria, Chile, Costa Rica, Ghana, Greece, Mexico, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Denmark, South Africa, Turks & Caicos, and Argentina. Already approved to Study Away in Spring 2010? Be sure to APPLY to your approved program(s) ASAP. Applications for Trinity programs can be obtained from the OIP. Applications for non-Trinity programs can be found on the program websites. Once you are accepted, please notify the OIP.
There is a Mandatory Study Away Pre-Departure Orientation on Tuesday, December 8th, from 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. in the Washington Room, Mather Hall. Important information about health, safety, academic differences, insurance, and other items will be covered! Mark your calendars.
Process to Apply for Approval to Study Away in 2010-2011
All Trinity students who want to Study Away for a semester or full year in 2010-2011 must attend a Study Away Information Session (check for dates under Info Sessions and Events) and/or meet with an OIP adviser before completing a Request for Approval to Study Away. The Request is due Friday, December 4, 2009, by 4:00 p.m. to the OIP, 66 Vernon. For questions, contact the OIP at oip@trincoll.edu

The Office of International Programs will be holding an open house for Trinity faculty and staff on Wednesday, Nov 18th, from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., in the Office of International Programs, 66 Vernon Street. See our office, meet our staff, hear updates on programs and future plans for study abroad, and learn more about other study away opportunities through Trinity! Take a break and join us for refreshments and worldly conversation.
