Gary Felder
Smith College

The theory of inflation describes our universe when it was a tiny fraction of a second old. In this talk I will describe what this theory says about the early universe, what implications it has for the later universe, and how inflation has been and continues to be tested observationally. Along the way I will discuss the more general issue of what kinds of questions we can and can not currently address about the origins of our universe.

Friday, March 27th 2009, McCook Auditorium, 3:00 pm, Refreshments 2:45 pm
