Professional Opportunities

 TEAC Advisory Council

The Trinity Engineering Advisory Council (TEAC) is comprised of a group of leaders from engineering industry and academia and serves as a professional resource and advocate for the Trinity Engineering Program.  TEAC conducts biannual professional awareness and "real world engineering" seminars for our students, as well as providing internship opportunities.

Internships

Professional OpportunitiesThe Trinity College Engineering Program derives substantial benefit from its location in the state capital. Its proximity to leading technological and biomedical facilities and educational institutions affords wide-ranging internship opportunities to all Engineering students. In recent years, engineering internships have been completed at such companies as Pratt and Whitney, Northeast Utilities, Mira Systems, the Institute of Living, United Technologies Corporation, Pfizer, Texas Instruments, Hartford Hospital, the University of Connecticut Medical School, and Walchem, among others. The Engineering Department sponsors a summer internship program which strives to find a placement for every Engineering major during the summer between the junior and senior year.

Professional Societies

Affiliations with student chapters of such national professional organizations as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) expose students to issues and dialogues in the profession they plan to enter.
