Internships

Trinity's location in Hartford offers exceptional advantages for the Economics major to explore real-world applications of economic theories. The capital region affords access to government at the state and local levels, as well as to corporations, hospitals, nonprofit agencies, and a variety of organizations that provide rich ground for independent studies and internships.

The College's Internship Program offers more than 200 established placements; students can also design their own internships, with the guidance of a faculty member. More than half of our students do at least one internship during the course of their four years at Trinity. Open to them are opportunities to work in fields ranging from insurance and finance to first-rate hospitals, legal services and the arts.

Economics majors can observe firsthand the application of economic principles to public policy through the well-established Legislative Internship Program, where students work closely with a state legislator.

For students in business-related internships, the Economics Department sponsors a Business Internship Seminar each semester. The seminar meets weekly, and helps students to reconcile the lessons they take from the classroom with their experiences in the workplace.
