All matriculated students enrolled at Trinity in spring 2001 or later and who have kept an active Trinity account may view unofficial copies of their own transcripts online, using TCOnline, Trinity's web-based student record system. However, occasionally, students require printed official transcripts for prospective employers, graduate school applications, etc. In compliance with the Buckley Amendment (also known as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974), you must request all transcripts in writing. There are three ways to request transcripts. You may use the transcript request forms located at the Office of the Registrar (located in Trinity Commons room 139), you may write a letter, or you may print one of our on-line request forms. If you write a letter, please include the following: your name as it was when you attended Trinity, your signature, your social security number, your dates of attendance, and the address where you would like your transcript sent.
You may fax or mail your request. By mail, please send your request to the Office of the Registrar, Trinity College, 300 Summit Street, Hartford, CT 06106. Our fax number is (860) 297-5179.
You may request either official or unofficial transcripts. There is no fee for either type of transcript.
Unofficial transcripts are printed on plain white paper, they do not have the Trinity embossed seal or the Registrar's signature, and they are stamped "Unofficial." Use the Unofficial Transcript Request Form to request unofficial transcripts. After you receive your transcript, keep a copy so that you can photocopy it when needed (e.g., for on-campus job interviews).
Official transcripts are printed on special transcript paper, which includes the Registrar's signature and Trinity's seal. On the back of the transcript is a key explaining how to interpret the transcript. Use the Official Transcript Request Form to request official transcripts. Official transcripts may be sent directly to students.
If you fill out a transcript request form in Trinity Commons, you may drop the form off at the office front desk, or direct it to the Registrar's Office through campus mail.
Please allow up to 10 business days for us to process your transcript request.
If you have any questions, you may call the Clerical Assistant at 860-297-2122.
