Congratulations to three Anthropology majors and double majors who have received Student Initiated Research Grants from the Faculty Research Committee for Summer 2013 research:

Annie Arnzen for a project entitled "Stories of Survivors: the Use of Narrative in Treating Trauma Survivors."

Patricia Cavanaugh for a project with deaf students in Hartford entitled: "Cochlear Implants in the Classroom."

Prof. Shafqat Hussain has been on sabbatical leave this year conducting research on snow leopard conservation in Pakistan.

He was also featured in the January 2013 National Geographic section "Survival Guide" with an essay about crossing a glacier.

Fulbright Award

Prof. Jim Trostle has been awarded a Fulbright fellowship to teach in Chile for 2013-2014.
