One of the most exciting opportunities the Trinity Classics Department offers its students is the opportunity to participate in a summer field school in archaeology at the site of Akko in Israel. Akko was inhabited from the Bronze Age to the present, and excavations have uncovered remains from all periods. Led by Martha Risser, Associate Professor of Classics -- an archaeologist with decades of field experience who has been training students in archaeology since she came to Trinity in 1989 -- students have the chance to participate in all phases of excavation in collaboration with faculty and students from other colleges and universities. Students earn 2 credits which can be applied to a Classics major or one of our minors. For more information download the brochure
or contact Professor Risser at email@example.com.
