First-Year Academic Mentors

Thank you for your interest in becoming a First-Year Mentor. Mentors are an integral part of First-Year Seminars and Gateway Programs. Forty to fifty Mentors are selected from the sophomore, junior, or senior class by the First-Year Program and the upcoming seminar instructors. Mentors will play an essential role in helping new students make a successful transition to the academic, intellectual, and emotional challenges of college life at Trinity. Undergraduate Mentors must show evidence of academic achievement, skills in writing, verbal communication, research and problem solving skills, and community involvement. Please read the mentor job description and following information carefully before submitting your application.

All applications must include –    

Submission of Application: The entire application, including references, must be received by the First-Year Program Office by Friday, March 1, 2013. Be sure to submit the online application by this date.  Other materials can be brought or mailed to the First-Year Program, MECC 166, attn: Dania Field, or sent via email to Dania.field@trincoll.edu.

Interview: You must sign up for an interview with Dean Margaret Lindsey or Dr. Erin Valentino. Contact Dania Field  with your availability to schedule your interview. 

Notification: Pending a timely completion of the application process, we expect to notify candidates of their acceptance by early April 2013.  Students offered the position must confirm their acceptance by Friday, April 19, 2013.
