Musical Theater Production Auditions

The department of Music announces auditions for its Fall Musical-Theater Production (title or titles TBA). Stage and musical direction by Gerald Moshell.

Auditions will take place in Austin Arts Center 112 (lower level) and will last about 12 minutes. Please sign up for an audition slot on the bulletin board to the right of room 112.

Tuesday, September 2 - 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Wednesday, September 3 - 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Please prepare a Broadway-type song for which you need to supply an extra copy of the piano part for the accompanist (a photocopy will do); the accompanist is provided. You needn't sing from memory, but you must sing with accompaniment. For help in locating material, books of Broadway tunes are on reserve at the Main Circulation Desk on Level A of the Raether Library. A text reading will be supplied at the audition. 

The Fall Musical-Theater Production will be performed in Garmany Hall on October 16-18. Group vocal rehearsals and staging rehearsals will be scheduled to coordinate with actors’ academic schedules. Students may receive .25 course credit for participation (MUSC 119), and personnel for offstage technical help (stage management, props, etc.) are also needed.

Auditions for the Theater and Dance Department’s Fall Theater Production of "’Tis Pity She’s a Whore" by John Ford, directed by Associate Professor Barbara Karger, a Jacobean tale of love, lust, passion, violence, and revenge—one of literature’s most controversial plays—will be held in Trinity Commons studios:
