AGENCY FUNCTION:
The
Pre-K-12 Education Internship is an amazing opportunity for top college juniors
or seniors, who are interested in the field of education or
communications. Interns are exposed to
processes and systems of a large urban school district and gain hands-on
experience in education reform. Throughout the semester, interns will take on
more responsibility in the Pre-K-12 Education department, communicating with
principals and contributing to special projects.
INTERN ACTIVITIES:
Responsibilities include:
·
Leveraging social networks to strengthen the relationships existing
between central office, schools and the Hartford community.
·
Managing newsletters and other communication tools.
·
Data collection and analysis.
·
Planning meeting logistics.
·
Revising operational processes to maximize efficiency.
·
Other tasks as assigned by the Pre-K-12 Education team.
Qualifications:
·
College junior or senior
·
Interest in education reform
·
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
·
Detail-oriented and well-organized
·
Solid understanding of social media and Internet marketing best
practices
·
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
·
Knowledge of GoogleDocs
·
High
level of personal responsibility and professionalism
