ISSSC International Advisory Board


Eileen Barker, Ph.D., Ph.D. h.c., O.B.E., F.B.A., is professor emeritus of sociology with special reference to the study of religion at the London School of Economics (LSE).


Jay Demerath, Ph.D., is Emile Durkheim Distinguished Professor of Sociology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.


Asghar Ali Engineer, a civil engineer, holds honorary doctorates from several Indian universities. He is chairman of the Centre for the Study of Secularism in Society, editor of the Indian Journal of Secularism, and director of the Institute of Islamic Studies, Mumbai, India.


David A. Hollinger is department chair and Preston Hotchkis Professor of History at the University of California at Berkeley.
