AGENCY FUNCTION:  Small commercial real estate loan production, underwriting and due diligence firm works primarily with Wall Street investment banks/brokerage firms (such as Merrill Lynch, Wells Fargo Bank, Countrywide Bank and RBS Greenwich). Most revenue is generated through consulting service contracts with clients who out-source their commercial loan underwriting and due diligence to McCary Stevens.

INTERN ACTIVITIES:  MSA is interested in offering an internship to student who has interest in exploring possible career in commercial real estate finance. Intern will be included in select underwriting consulting assignments under direction of senior MSA underwriter. Intern will have direct exposure/involvement with commercial leases, market research, property appraisals, engineering and environmental reviews, and legal documentation for loans. Local property inspections will be included. As a small company, intern will be exposed to the small company environment and will have direct access to all six senior partners. Candidate should have good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Must also have understanding of time value of money. Previous experience in commercial real estate not required, but should be willing to review/learn commercial mortgage loan process and legal documentation. Must also have initiative to take active role in shaping the internship experience. MSA works with confidential information, so candidate will be expected to sign confidentiality agreement.
