AGENCY FUNCTION:  A weekly alternative newspaper published in Hartford.  The chain of four Advocate newspapers has a circulation of 244,000.

INTERN ACTIVITIES:  Editorial Intern works directly with editor to develop reporting and writing techniques.  Training in layout, headline writing, general newspaper procedure.

HOURS PER WEEK:  10-20
