AGENCY:         HISPANIC HEALTH COUNCIL

AGENCY FUNCTION: A community-based organization dedicated to improving the physical and mental health, education and economic well-being of the Latino and other under-served populations in Hartford. To achieve its goal, the Council has four interrelated strategies: research, direct service, training and advocacy.  Please visit our website at www.hispanichealth.com.

 

INTERN ACTIVITIES: Internships vary according to the students’ needs and the agency’s changing needs. Interns may have the opportunity to participate in any one of the multiple research projects that are ongoing in the Center for Community Research. There are also opportunities to work in the areas of nutrition, youth drug prevention and outreach, AIDS/HIV prevention and outreach, child abuse prevention and pre-natal care. Spanish language skills are desirable but not necessary.
