AGENCY FUNCTION:  Political organization assists local towns and state officials with organizing, messaging and fundraising activities/projects.

 

INTERN ACTIVITIES: There are two (2) full-time unpaid internships available at CTGOP.  Accepted applicants will perform a variety of tasks over the course of 30-40 hours per work week. 

 

The Executive Internship will be awarded to a well qualified candidate who successfully completes the application process, interview, and is positively recommended by two referrers.  Duties will include monitoring and assistance in 2007 Municipal Elections across the state of Connecticut, database management and maintenance, event planning and operations, office administrative duties, and other assigned tasks.

 

The Chairman’s Internship is a new internship being offered by CTGOP.  An extremely well-qualified student will be afforded a unique opportunity to be the personal aide to the Chairman of the Connecticut Republicans.  Upon successful completion of the application, interview, and positive recommendations from at least three referrers, the student will be in charge of managing the Chairman’s schedule, preparing issue and political briefs, monitoring the local, state, and national news media, and otherwise assisting the Chairman as necessary.

 

Part Time Internships

Two (2) part-time unpaid internships are open to qualified applicants.  Accepted applicants will perform tasks of the Executive Internship on a part-time (less than 30 hours/week) basis.  Part-time internships generally are more heavily weighted to database management and office administrative duties.

a.       Letter of Interest should indicate which internship they desire, why they wish to participate in an internship at Connecticut Republicans, and highlight any previous experience in politics.  Please include complete and accurate contact information.

2.       Using the supplied contact information, CTGOP will contact applicants via e-mail or telephone to set up an interview at the Connecticut Republicans Headquarters, 1010 Wethersfield Avenue, Suite 101 North, Hartford, Connecticut, 06114.

3.       Subsequent to the interview, accepted candidates will be contacted via telephone with an internship offer.
