AGENCY: CONNECTICUT CHILDREN'S MEDICAL CENTER SCHOOL

INTERNSHIP CONTACT:  Dr. Pat Fitzgerald, Clinical Program Director, 947-4100

AGENCY FUNCTION:  Provides special education integrated day treatment programs for children and adolescents with emotional disturbance, developmental or neurological disabilities. Students range in age from 3 to 21 years and are placed at the School by their local school district, which provides tuition and transportation.

INTERN ACTIVITIES: Interns work within a specific classroom, assisting with educational and therapeutic activities.  According to interest, interns may observe group therapy, social skills training, behavioral management, crisis intervention, speech/language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy or pre-vocational training activities. File review is encouraged, and interns are invited to attend Team Meetings, Clinical Case Conferences, and other staff training activities.

HOURS PER WEEK:  8-16
