College’s 21st President Takes Office

James F. Jones, Jr. assumed the duties of president of Trinity College on Thursday, July 1, 2004. Jones came to Trinity after serving as president of Kalamazoo College in Michigan since 1996.
Jones considers the continued strengthening of the College’s ties to the community and growing the endowment among his priorities. He plans to spend some time getting to know the faculty and staff before deciding on a future course of action.

Trinity College Names James F. Jones, Jr. as President

James F. Jones, Jr., president of Kalamazoo College, Kalamazoo, Mich., was elected today by the Trinity College Board of Trustees as president and Trinity College professor in the humanities. Paul E. Raether, chairman of the Board and of the Presidential Search Committee, made the announcement, describing Jones as “the ideal candidate to lead the College in its commitment to advance liberal arts learning, in the classroom and out.
