GREETINGS FROM THE CITY OF HARTFORD

As Mayor of the City of Hartford and also as a proud Trinity graduate ---- it is my pleasure to be here to celebrate this joyous occasion.  This is a great day for Trinity, a great day for the City of Hartford and a great day for the many alumni, parents, students, faculty and all who have joined you today.

As we all stand here at Trinity looking out over the beautiful skyline of Hartford I am reminded of the commitment that this institution has to the city and its people.  Trinity has helped make the city of Hartford a great place to live, work and learn.

Many years ago Trinity took a chance on a young man.  Hired him, enrolled him for his degree and gave him the opportunity to make a difference at this College and in this community.  That young man now stands before you as Mayor of the City of Hartford.

Trinity is a place where you can make a difference.  A place to build bridges.  Trinity is a place I call home and I welcome you President Jones and Jan to your new home.

I look forward to seeing this great College continue its success in this beautiful capitol city.
