GREETINGS FROM THE ALUMNI
Harold A. Smullen, Jr. '76,
National Alumni Association, President
President Jones, please accept a warm welcome from the 22,000 graduates of this great College, who are united in wishing you a successful presidency. We have seen your credentials, we have heard you speak at alumni events around the country, and we have been impressed, even in this short time, at how deeply you care about this institution that means so much to each of us.
As you well know, you have extraordinary assets to work with here at Trinity. The faculty, who taught us so well, is deeply dedicated to teaching and scholarship. The College campus continues to grow in beauty and in its usefulness to the educational mission. Our Admissions Office continues to attract large numbers of highly qualified students. Above all, Trinity is blessed with an alumni body that is forever grateful for what the College has done for us and which is eager to support our alma mater in a wide variety of ways.
Do not hesitate to call on us. We are ready at all times to aid you in your quest to make the college an even stronger institution. We are proud that Trinity’s alumni have established a strong reputation as reliable and generous donors to our alma mater. We will continue that tradition under your leadership. And we will continue to also give of our time and expertise, as admissions volunteers, as collaborators with the career services office, and as facilitators and door-openers for all sorts of new ventures that the college may decide to embark on. Your enthusiasm for Trinity matches ours, and we look forward eagerly to all that we can accomplish as we work together.
President Jones, you look right at home here ‘Neath the elms. May your time on this campus be productive and may these be happy years for you and for Jan. On behalf of the College’s alumni, I am proud to welcome you to Trinity.
