College Leadership

Larry DowLarry Dow ’73, dean of admissions and financial aid, joined Trinity’s Admissions Office upon graduating from the College. Named to his current post after serving three years as director of admissions, he oversees student recruitment, selection, enrollment, and financial aid. Under his leadership, Trinity has seen record numbers of applicants and gained recognition among leading liberal arts colleges for increasing racial and cultural diversity. In 2004, he served on Hartford’s Blue Ribbon Commission on Higher Education, formed to increase the number of Hartford residents graduating from four-year colleges and choosing to pursue employment in the city.

Each year, in an effort to attract to Trinity the most academically able, personally talented, and diverse student body possible, he and his staff are in contact with thousands of prospective students and their families from across the country and throughout the world. As a result of their efforts, students come from nearly every state and from 30 foreign countries. In 2006, the College received nearly 6,000 applications, the highest number in the history of the school.

A dedicated alumnus, Dow was recognized by the College in 2003 with the Alumni Medal for Excellence.
