The College Bookstore sells a line of clothing, including sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, and outerwear, as well as a selection of giftware, such as watches, clocks, pens, glassware, and various framed etchings and photographs of the College.  Saturday: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm; Sunday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
The College Bookstore will also have a tent near the Post-Commencement Celebration tents for your convenience.

In the Event of Inclement Weather
The Commencement ceremony will be held rain or shine on the Quadrangle(campus map). Graduates are free to wear rain gear over their gowns.  High heels are not recommended.  Guests should come prepared for all weather conditions, including rain and hot sun.

In the Event of Extreme Weather
In the event of extreme weather conditions that threaten personal safety (such as a severe thunderstorm), the Commencement ceremony may be moved to Oosting Gymnasium, Ferris Athletic Center (campus map). In the unlikely event that the ceremony must be moved, seating will be limited to three guest tickets per graduate.  Extreme weather tickets will be distributed at Senior Salute.  These steps will be taken only in extreme circumstances.

If changes are required due to extreme weather, details will be communicated by 7:00 am on Sunday in the following manner:

  1. “Extreme Weather Plan in Effect” banners at Mather Hall, The Bistro, Koeppel Student Center, and the Ferris Athletic Center (campus map)
  2. Recorded message on the Commencement hotline at 860-297-4133
  3. Broadcast e-mail and voice mail to the campus community
  4. A notice on www.trincoll.edu

The following locations (campus map) will be available for friends and family members who do not have tickets in the case of extreme weather to view the Commencement ceremony:
    Goodwin Theater, Austin Arts Center
    McCook Auditorium, McCook Academic Building
Boyer Auditorium, Albert C. Jacobs Life Sciences Center
Washington Room, Mather Hall, second floor

Parking
Parking will be available in many Trinity College lots. Parking will also be available on a limited number of our athletic fields, which can be accessed from Broad Street (directly across from the Boys & Girls Club on the corner of Broad & Brownell) (campus map).  The fields will be open on Saturday from 11:00 am - 7:30 pm and on Sunday from 7:00 am - 6:30 pm.  Please visit Special Services Requests and Disability Access for handicapped parking information.  Please note: There is NO PARKING allowed on the south side of Vernon Street.  Parking on both sides of this street will hinder emergency vehicles, as well as regular traffic.  There are NO PARKING signs posted along Allen Place and Crescent Streets.  Please pay attention to the signage along the streets.  Hartford Police regularly ticket and tow vehicles parked on the wrong sides, because these streets, especially Allen Place, are the best arteries to Hartford Hospital from campus. Hartford Police will patrol these areas throughout the day.

The following parking lots will be closed beginning at 4:00 pm on Friday:
Summit Street (across from Jarvis and Admissions)
          Admissions Lot

The following parking lots will be closed beginning at 4:00 pm on Saturday:
Hallden, McCook and Life Sciences Lots
Hansen Lot and Hansen Roadway (by track entrance)

Please discourage family members or friends from parking on sidewalks or roadways or blocking parked vehicles.  Parking in such a manner could result in your vehicle being removed from campus at the owner's expense.

Personalized Announcements

In addition to the six non-personalized announcements and envelopes provided at Senior Salute, personalized announcements can be purchased through Balfour. You can place your order by calling 1-877-Balfour or going online at http://www.balfourcollege.com/.  These are the only personalized graduation announcements authorized by Trinity College.

Photos
Chappell Studios has been retained by the College to photograph the graduates as they receive their diplomas and after they walk off the platform.  Five to seven days after the graduation, you will receive proofs in the mail and you can purchase photos at that time. So don’t worry if your seat is not close to the stage – you will get wonderful pictures of your graduate!

Seating
All Commencement guests are asked to be seated by 10:30 am as the processional begins at 10:50 am.  Seating will open at 9:00 am on a first-come, first-served basis.  Any signs placed on seats prior to 9:00 am will be removed.  Graduates and families can invite an unlimited number of guests if the ceremony is held on the Quadrangle(campus map).  If the ceremony is held inside due to extreme weather condition, students are limited to three guests per graduate.  Please review the “In the Event of Extreme Weather” section.   Guests and graduates are asked to turn off cellular phones during all ceremony. Use of cellular phones during the ceremony, including the procession, is disruptive to guests, graduates, and ceremony participants.

Senior Salute
Senior Salute was held on Wednesday, April 9th, from 3:00-6:30 pm in the Vernon Social Center (campus map).  During this very important event College officials will assist degree candidates in making final preparations for Commencement.  The Offices of Campus Life, Career Services, College Advancement, College Bookstore, Community Service and Civic Engagement, Student Accounts and Loans, and the Registrar were represented.

Tickets
Graduates are not limited in the number of guests they can invite if the Commencement ceremony is held on the Quadrangle (campus map).  Only in the case of extreme weather, defined as conditions that threaten personal safety (such as severe thunderstorm), will the ceremony be held in the Oosting Gymnasium, Ferris Athletic Center (campus map).  If the ceremony is moved inside, seating will be limited to three guests per graduate.  Extreme weather tickets will be distributed at Senior Salute on April 9th.  Please review the “In the Event of Extreme Weather” section.

The following locations (campus map) will be available for friends and family members who do not have tickets in the case of extreme weather to view the ceremony:
