Paul H. Mounds, Jr. ’07

Paul H. Mounds, Jr. is Vice President of Policy and Communications for the Connecticut Health Foundation, where he is responsible for the foundation’s work to inform and educate state and federal policymakers on issues related to health equity, as well as the foundation’s policy and communications activities.

Mounds has extensive experience in policymaking and communications at the state and federal levels as he previously served as Senior Director of Policy and Government affairs at the Office of Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Deputy State Director for U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal and Communications Director for U.S. Congressman John B. Larson. Mounds was appointed by Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloy to serve on the Connecticut Commission on Fiscal Stability and Economic Growth, a commission tasked with developing and recommending policies to achieve state government fiscal stability and promote economic growth and competitiveness within the state.

A political science major at Trinity, Mounds has been a member of the board since 2014. He also served as a member of the National Alumni Association Executive Committee. He is currently co-chair of the Student Life Subcommittee, as well as a member of the Information Services and Facilities Subcommittee and the Awards for Excellence Committee.

Mounds resides in Hartford, CT with his wife, Samaia Hernandez Mounds and their son, Paul Curtis.
