Dick Meloy to Kick Off the S.C. Davis Endowment Lecture Series
What: Dick Meloy, chairman of the board of directors and treasurer of ReGen Power Systems of Stamford, CT, will deliver a lecture entitled, “Perspectives on Entrepreneurship in Today’s World.”
When: Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 8 p.m.
Where: Rittenburg Lounge in Mather Hall on the Trinity campus, 300 Summit Street.
Background: This lecture, the first in the S.C. Davis Endowment Lecture Series, will feature a Trinity alumnus. Meloy graduated from Trinity in 1968 with a B.A. in history.
Meloy joined ReGen in 1999. As chairman and treasurer, Meloy is responsible for the financial functions of the company and is involved in strategy, business development, and general management.
He has been involved in the energy business since 1988, when he joined the power project finance group of GE Capital. There he founded and developed a business that invested in producing oil and gas properties. His prior experience was in general management consulting with Booz-Allen and Greenwich Associates and in commercial banking.
Meloy served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and received his MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in 1973. He is married, has four daughters and lives in Darien, CT.
ReGen is an energy technology company that is building a portfolio of technologies and solutions to today’s toughest energy challenges. Its core technology is a modified Stirling engine that operates at relatively low temperatures. As an external combustion engine, it is capable of using virtually any source of heat to operate.
The company’s mission, according to its Web site, is to develop systems to convert waste or underutilized resources to useful products – electricity or clean water, for example -- in an economic manner.
