Press Release

Popular Choreographer Ann Liv Young Takes Show to Trinity

What: Ann Liv Young, known for her “provocative and visually arresting brand of dance-theater,” is bringing her highly acclaimed work to the Trinity College campus in Hartford.  Young, who is rapidly becoming one of the most recognized names in theater at just 26 years of age, will entertain the audience in the Goodwin Theater with her show “Snow White,” a bizarre spin-off of the classic Grimms Brothers children’s tale.  For mature audience only, show includes graphic content and language.  Tickets are available to the public for $15, seniors and students $10, and are free with a Trinity ID.

When: Friday, January 25th, 2008 at 7:30 PM

Where: Goodwin Theater at the Austin Arts Center on the Trinity College campus

Background: Ann Liv Young, 26, has been creating dance work for eight years.  Her choreography has been presented at major venues across the country and in Europe.  Young’s creations are essentially a reflection of her life, inspired by her experiences with her dancers, family, collaborators, and passersby.  Her mission is to create work that is honest in its inception, creation, and execution.  Her work is forward, contrived, and thoughtful, and she strives to break barriers in dance performance.  Young received her B.A. in Choreography and Textile Design from Hollins University in Virginia in 2003.

Tickets are available to the public for $15, seniors and students $10, and free with a Trinity ID.  For tickets, please call the Austin Arts Center Box Office at (860) 297-2199.  For more information about the event, please contact Tracy Quigley at (860) 297-2568 or by email at Tracy.Quigley@trincoll.edu.
