What: Now in its 49th year, the Service of Lessons and Carols for Christmas will be held at the Chapel of Trinity College on Sunday, December 9, at two identical services, at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
The service is one of Hartford’s oldest continuing traditions of celebrating the upcoming Christmas season, and will include music of the season offered by the Trinity College Chapel Singers (the oldest continuing student group on campus) and the Trinity College Concert Choir. Readings from the Bible appropriate to the message of Christmas and offered by members of the Trinity community, will complement the celebration in song.
Over the years, this service has ushered in the beginning of the holiday season for so many in the Greater Hartford community, and the public is warmly invited to attend. Due to the anticipated crowds, early arrival is encouraged (doors for the 4:00 p.m. service open at 3:00 p.m.) and experience indicates that there are usually more available seats at the 7:00 pm service.
When: Sunday, December 9, 2007 ~ 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Where: Trinity College Chapel
This event is free and open to the public. For more information call (860) 297-2012.
