Dae Bong Sunim is an ordained Buddhist and Trinity Alum (’72)
What: Dae Bong Sunim, an ordained Buddhist monk, is coming back to his alma matter, Trinity College, where he will give a talk at the campus chapel. Paul Bloom of the New Haven Zen Center will be giving the introductory talk. This event is free and open to the public. It is being sponsored by the Trinity College Chapel and the Trinity Zen Group (www.trinityzen.org).

Background:
Dae Bong Sunim began practicing with Korean Zen Master Seung Sahn in 1977. He was ordained a Buddhist monk in 1984 and received Dharma Transmission in April 1999. Before studying Zen, he studied psychology at Trinity College, worked as a counselor at Hartford Hospital and the UConn Health Center in Farmington and at the Whiting Forensic Institute in Middletown and as a welder at the Electric Boat shipyard in Groton.
He has lived, practiced and taught in Zen Centers throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. He helped found Mu Sang Sa, Kye Ryong Sahn International Zen Center in South Korea where he is currently the head teacher.
